Benefits Summary

American Technology Services, Inc. offers a very competitive benefits package for a small company.  Most benefits start the first of the month following the employee date of hire.

Medical Coverage

There are three choices of medical coverage to choose from through CareFirst of BlueCross BlueShield, including an HMO, POS Open Access, and PPO Plan. Plans have minimal annual deductibles, low office co-pays, and 90-day prescription benefits. 75% of Employee and Dependent premiums are paid by American Technology Services.  25% are paid through payroll deductions. 

Dental Coverage

Guardian Dental Plan is the provider effective January 1, 2008.  There are in and out of network benefits with a $1500 calendar year maximum per covered member. Orthodontia benefits are $1500 lifetime maximum per covered child member. 75% of Employee and Dependent premiums are paid by American Technology Services.  25% are paid through payroll deductions. 

Vision Coverage

Vision benefits are included with, and therefore correspond with the individual CareFirst of BlueCross BlueShield Plan enrollment in HMO, POS Open Access, or PPO. Plans include annual co-pays for exams, lenses, frames, and contact lenses or retail price discounts.

Short-Term Disability Coverage

Full-time employees are automatically eligible for benefits on the 15th day of disability. Premiums are 100% paid by American Technology Services.

Long-Term Disability Coverage

Full-time employees are automatically eligible for benefits after 90 days of disability (coinciding with Short term disability benefits ending). Premiums are 100% paid by American Technology Services.

Flexible Spending Account (FSA) / Section 125 Cafeteria Plan Benefits

Paychex administers these Plans for American Technology Services full-time employees:

  • Pre-tax insurance premium payroll deductions
  • Dependent Care Reimbursement Plan
  • eHealthHeaMedical / Dental Reimbursement Plan

401(k) Profit Sharing Plan

Paycheck administers the American Technology Services, Inc. 401(k) Plan. Open enrollment and changes can be made monthly.

Paid Leave Benefits

Full-time employees are eligible for three types of annual leave:

  • Vacation Leave is earned and accrued by service length each pay period.
  • Sick Leave is earned and accrued each pay period and may be carried over annually to a maximum of 160 hours.
  • American Technology Services observes eight Federal Holiday’s plus the Day after Thanksgiving annually.
