American Technology Services Launches Michigan Educational Credit Union’s New Web Site
MECU web redesign project completed successfully
January 23, 2012, Fairfax, VA - American Technology Services, Inc. (ATSTM) announced today the successful completion of the web site redesign project and launch of the new Michigan Educational Credit Union (MECU) web site. This project required the creation of a new information architecture and visual design for the web site, including the implementation of Kentico’s version 5.5r2 content management system (CMS). MECU was already using highly attentive managed hosting services provided by ATSTM, so this was a logical next step.
A few of the key elements required by MECU were: seamless integration of existing online services, new dynamic design and menu structure, and the development of a custom interest rate table.
Phillip Domzalski, Vice President of Information Technology at MECU said, “The overall response to the site from our members and employees has been fantastic. The functionality is exactly what we needed to maintain the site internally, and there has been overwhelming positive feedback on the design. We truly appreciate the team effort and drive of ATSTM to help us launch the site.”
“Our design and development team’s primary goals included giving MECU a web presence that presented a unified visual identity, brand, and message to go along with their existing identity. Another important goal was to provide them with a tool, like the Kentico CMS, that would allow them to quickly change their content on a regular basis,” said Alex Koludrovic, Vice President of Internet Services for ATSTM.
MECU is looking forward to the new web site being a great resource for their current members, and also for finding new members. The CMS implementation and integration now allows content to be dynamically generated on the site by filling out quick forms. In addition, the site incorporates minimal hardcoding, which enables MECU to quickly manage the majority of the content throughout the site.
About MECU
Originally known as Wayne Out County Teachers Credit Union, Michigan Educational Credit Union (MECU) formed in 1942 when 28 teachers and educational employees pooled together $170 in assets. Today, they are nearly 50,000 members strong, with assets exceeding $600 million. MECU is a non-profit financial cooperative that is owned and operated by its members. The Board of Directors is comprised of volunteers who are elected by the Credit Union's members. Because MECU's primary goal is to help members, not to generate a profit, its members typically enjoy better rates and more affordable services than found at other financial institutions.

“We have been offering cloud solutions to some of our clients for more than a decade, both private and hybrid clouds. These solutions have been a normal extension for our clients when outsourcing their IT. Larger companies, like Apple with their iCloud and Microsoft with its Office 365 offering, have brought the old cloud terminology to the mainstream. We see the hybrid cloud being an ideal solution for most of our clients and are constantly improving our infrastructure to deliver the technical requirements our clients seek, including security needs. I am very pleased that we have been recognized for our cloud offerings that we deliver ourselves and through our partners.” said Alex Koludrovic, Vice President of Internet Services at ATSTM.
